We are on the hunt for the quintessential Scottish town. We want a cottage. We want to be surrounded by history. Add some green rolling hills and a sea view and we're sold. We want to live the dream. If we're going to make our expat experience permanent then we want to live the life we dreamed Scotland is. Is that too much to ask?
We hopped in the car and went exploring this afternoon. Here is what we found::

This church is for sale. Anybody interested? |
So, tell me...could you live here?
YES! : )
ReplyDeleteI could totally see myself walking around those little villages and places! My sister is getting married in Scotland this year, and they're currently looking for a venue. She's been showing me all kinds of different places, and I love them all!
ReplyDeleteWhere area's are they looking into Amie?! To get married over here would be a dream wedding for sure!
DeleteIt really is fun to walk around these places. They people are really nice and always invite us places. Ha! They also like to tell us about the time some other American's were visiting 4 years ago and ask if we know them. Ha!
Yes! Where is that? don't come to Cumbernauld, you won't find any of those things you are look for. Stirling though? Would be great. Can't wait to see where you end up!
ReplyDeleteWe went out to Houston, Kilmacolm, and Bridgeofweir. It's around Paisley. It's nice out that way! I think we like that area of Scotland and my husband could commute easy enough. Actually his commute would be shorter than what he is doing now.
DeleteSo pretty! I could totally live in a church, too. It's popular for churches to be converted into beautiful condos around here. It's such a nice way to preserve the great architecture instead of tearing them down when no longer being used.
ReplyDeleteKK
I called my sister when I got home and told her about the church. She said, "You're killing me here! That would be amazing!" And it would! Can you imagine living in a converted Scottish church?! Living the dream for real!
DeleteYes :)
ReplyDeleteThat sign is totally creepy. I still like the house with the solarium!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt totally was Christy! They were everywhere too! The Scots use the word "dead" as an emphasis. Meaning, GO REALLY SLOW. There are children playing. But it has always seemed weird to me. I mean, DEAD?!?! Creepy.
DeleteOhhh!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteIt is great!!
The easiest answer to anything: YES!!!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to live there. It's beautiful.
