But, I loved it!MARY IN SCOTLAND https://www.blogger.com/profile/04390613561715464322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381460383937761339.post-17906033207023842872012-07-14T00:10:00.590+01:002012-07-14T00:10:00.590+01:00This was my first time. I'm a bit scared of heights so the windy-ness at the top freaked me out and detracted from my views since I refused to leave the middle of the monument:) You took some great pictures!Lainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16861270500455278730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381460383937761339.post-78051550924966534362012-07-10T08:14:21.049+01:002012-07-10T08:14:21.049+01:00I love the Wallace monument! I've been there twice, once the first time Brian brought me to Scotland, and once when we brought my kids here for a vacation.

The second time there was a costumed guide of sorts who talked about the history of the battle, and some background of why they were fighting. My very American kids got a lot out of that part.

My son was amazed to see the sword and couldn't quite wrap his head around the fact that it was the actual sword he used.

It's a great spot to bring family to visit, and I hope I can bring my mom there some day. From the top you can see the little town of Alva, where her great-great grandparents lived.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11052420648829018400noreply@blogger.com
